Guest and member collections

Guest collections stay in this browser. When signed in, your collection is stored in our local database and synchronized across your devices. Your device collection is only merged when you choose Import device collection. You can export a JSON backup or clear your collection at any time.

Account and session data

We store your name, email, password hash and account role. Passwords are not stored in plain text. An HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in; session records include timestamps and technical connection information. You can sign out or change your password to revoke other sessions. Administrators can manage member access; administrative changes are logged.

Language and theme

First-party cookies remember your English or Chinese preference and your light or dark theme. Guest collections and theme preference may also use browser local storage.

External services

Search uses our local catalog. Collections are not sent to TMDB. Images are served from the local archive. A YouTube trailer loads only when opened; YouTube and external viewing providers apply their own privacy policies.

Website analytics

We use Umidata to understand visits to Videolex. Its script loads during browser idle time after the page has loaded, and receives page URLs, referrers, browser language and screen dimensions. We do not attach account passwords or collection contents to analytics events.
