Mohammed Al-Hajjar, also known by his professional pseudonym Mhmed Hajjar, is a Palestinian photojournalist and photographer originally from Gaza City, who has been working in the field since at least 2007. Throughout his career, he has worked as a freelancer for international publications and agencies, including Middle East Eye, The New Arab and the Associated Press, documenting daily life in the Gaza Strip. In 2017, he won second prize in the Gaza Women photography competition, whilst in 2018 he was wounded in the arm by a bullet fired by the Israeli army during protests, whilst carrying out his work. After 7 October 2023, he continued to produce reports from the field, also chronicling the displacement and hardships faced alongside his wife and children. In 2024, he took part in the group exhibition I Grant You Refuge – Gaza, dedicated to Palestinian photographers documenting the war. His work continued into 2026 with new reports for Middle East Eye.
