Antelami: Baptistery of Parma

Antelami: Battistero di Parma

The Baptistery of Parma was built by Benedetto Antelami between 1196 and 1216. This film explores its architectural features by tracing the structure’s octagonal, vertical layout with the camera, using low-angle shots, upward movements that follow the lines of the corner pillars, and exterior footage capturing the rhythmic alternation of sculptural and architectural elements on the facades.
